Our Work

Recent
Working with business leaders, faith based organizations and various coalitions, FVIR sent a delegation to meet with Florida legislators, sent press releases to the media, mobilized organizations and individuals to contact their State senators and representatives to oppose Arizona type bills from being passed. The result of our work, in conjunction with other coalitions, business leaders, the agriculture and other industries was that  SB 2040 and HB 7089 were not passed in Florida during the 2011 session. Although this was a major victory, our work must continue at the federal level.

Current
We seek to act as a bridge between Republicans and Democrats so that they can come together and give our nation sensible immigration reform.
